One person was killed in a crash Thursday morning on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach and a stretch of the freeway, closing the roadway for several hours.
The crash occurred about 3:45 a.m. just south of the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident prompted the closure of the southbound lanes of the Long Beach Freeway, south of the San Diego Freeway, as well as the southbound San Diego Freeway transition to the southbound Long Beach Freeway, the CHP said.
All lanes were reopened about 7:30 a.m., the CHP reported.
The age, gender and name of the victim and details of what led up to the crash were not immediately available.
