A SWAT team shut down a portion of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near the border of Lynwood and Los Angeles Wednesday while trying to take a woman, who may be a homicide suspect, into custody.
Law enforcement personnel responded to the 3300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near Long Beach Boulevard, about 10 a.m. to investigate the “possible homicide suspect,” according to Officer Jeffrey Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department.
It was not immediately clear when the SWAT team arrived, but by 6:15 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was closed between Long Beach Boulevard and California Avenue, and a SWAT team was on scene trying to take the woman into custody.
