A woman was shot and killed Tuesday in Bell, and a man believed to be her husband was detained for questioning, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at 6:40 a.m. in the 4900 block of Weik Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.
The victim was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, Navarro-Suarez said. There was no word on a motive for the shooting or what led up to the homicide.
The woman was between 75 and 80 years old, according to KTLA5, and a man believed to be her husband was detained for questioning, the sheriff’s department reported. Their names were not released.
