A suspect was in custody Saturday morning in connection with the stabbing death of a man in Pasadena.
Officers responded to several calls about a man stabbing another man in the 100 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard, near Fair Oaks Avenue, at 8:15 p.m. Friday, according to the Pasadena Police Department.
The victim was found on the ground bleeding profusely and later died at a hospital, police said.
Witnesses directed officers through an alley where the suspect was last seen running away. The suspect was found not far from the crime scene and was taken into custody without incident, the department said.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was walking north through the CVS parking lot with the suspect walking alongside in the same direction when, for unknown reasons, the suspect stabbed the victim several times, police said.
A bloodied knife and other evidence was recovered from the scene.
The names of the suspect and victim were not disclosed.
