A man driving a white minivan led police on a chase Wednesday in the South Los Angeles area before surrendering.
The chase ended at about 10:30 a.m. when the man stopped the vehicle and got out near Adams Boulevard and Hooper Avenue, where he was detained by police.
The chase began at about 9:30 a.m. a few blocks from where it ended — at Adams Boulevard and Compton Avenue, where officers had been sent on a report of a possible assault with a “person down,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers found no victim, but began chasing the vehicle when it sped off, police said.
The motorist kept going, at one point driving near 223rd Street and Compton Avenue, and then went back to the original neighborhood and surrendered without further incident.
It not immediately clear what possible charges he would face.
