A man who reportedly was armed was taken into custody Wednesday after a standoff with police in the south Los Angeles area, authorities said.
Officers went to the 700 block of West 56th Street at about 7:20 a.m. on a report of a disturbance involving the man and a woman thought to be his girlfriend, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The man and woman remained inside the residence until late Wednesday morning, when the woman came outside, police said. The man was taken into custody at about noon, police said. No injuries were reported.
It was unclear what charges the man might face. His name was not immediately released.
