A 72-year-old man stabbed multiple times in a conflict with another man at the entrance to the gate-guarded community of Coto de Caza remained hospitalized Thursday in an intensive care unit, while the suspect was being held on $500,000 bail.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies were called at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday to Coto De Caza Drive and Antonio Parkway and took Luis Fabian Centeno, 29, into custody for questioning. He was later arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder, sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Breckner said.
Centeno listed his occupation as security, according to jail records.
Investigators are not releasing details about what may have prompted the attack because they have not been able to take a statement from the victim, who is intubated but is expected to survive, Breckner said.
The man, whose name was withheld, underwent surgery Wednesday and was transferred to the ICU, Breckner said. His vital signs were listed as stable.
