A 21-year-old man was fatally struck Saturday morning by a motorist in Anaheim, who left the scene but eventually returned, a police sergeant said.
The Orange County coroner’s office identified the victim as Hector Chong Soto of Anaheim.
The initial call at 1:55 a.m. reported a hit-and-run in the area of Beach Boulevard and West Stonybrook Drive, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, said Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer.
The driver returned to the scene of the crash and it did not initially appear to be a DUI or drug-related, Carringer said.
