A Rowland Heights man who coached youth baseball is facing more than nine years in state prison for lewd acts on three boys, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Carlton Murray Harris Jr., 48, pleaded no contest Thursday to one count of committimg a lewd act on a child under 14 and two counts of committing a lewd act on a child 14 or 15 years old, according to Deputy District Attorney Leslie Bouvier.
The acts — involving victims ranging in age from 11 to 15 — occurred between 2014 and 2017 at Harris’ home, the prosecutor said.
Harris was a coach for the Puente Hills-Rowland Heights Little League, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported shortly after his March 30 arrest.
He has remained jailed since being taken into custody and is expected to be sentenced Nov. 10 to nine years and four months in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
