One person was killed Monday evening in a solo-vehicle crash on the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in the East Hollywood area and three lanes of the freeway are closed.

The crash occurred near Santa Monica Boulevard about 9:25 p.m. when the Hyundai Accent slammed into a wall along the right-hand side of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Nos. 2, 3 and 4 northbound lanes of the freeway were closed at Santa Monica Boulevard until further notice, the CHP said.

Details of what led up to the crash were not immediately available.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.
