A woman was killed Sunday during a single-vehicle traffic crash in Irwindale, authorities said.
Officers dispatched at 5:36 a.m. to a report of a traffic crash on Lower Azusa Road, west of the San Gabriel Valley (605) Freeway overpass, came upon a white 2018 Chevrolet Cruz that had struck a Southern California Edison utility pole on the north side of Lower Azusa Road, the Irwindale Police Department reported.
The car had been going eastbound on Lower Azusa Road when it crossed over the center divider and struck the pole, police said.
It was not immediately known if the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was the lone occupant inside her vehicle.
The westbound lanes of Lower Azusa Road were closed at the 605 Freeway for approximately five hours during the investigation.
Irwindale police urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-430-2244.
