A suspected gang member shot multiple times in Santa Ana early Friday was in critical condition, but expected to pull through.
Officers responded to the 900 block of East Second Street, near Standard Avenue, about 1:45 a.m. and located the victim, who was taken to a hospital, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
A group of suspected gang members asked the victim what gang he was with and when he responded, he was shot, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
The victim, whose name and age were not immediately released, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, but his vital signs were stable, Bertagna said.
