A man died Monday evening from injuries he sustained in an assault in Cathedral City.

Officers responded to the 68800 block of Ramon Road, west of Date Palm Drive, around 7 p.m., according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

The victim was found on a sidewalk outside a strip mall, KESQ reported.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.

A detailed description of a suspect and motive for the attack were not immediately available.
