Authorities Monday sought public help to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in a collision in Pomona that killed a motorcyclist.

The crash was reported at 8:09 p.m. Sunday at Garey Avenue and Pearl Street, according to the Pomona Police Department.

Authorities withheld the name of the fatally injured man, who was in his 50s, pending notification of his relatives.

The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a white, older-model Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck, which will have “significant” damage to the passenger side area, police said. No driver description was available.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 909-622-1241, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
