A convicted sex offender was charged Tuesday with exposing himself in Santa Ana.
Johnathan Christian Hattaway pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a felony count of indecent exposure with a prior conviction and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct for loitering on private property and trespassing with the intent to interfere with business, according to court records.
Hattaway, who entered his plea in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana, was ordered to return to court Jan. 12 for a pretrial hearing in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
Further details of Hattaway’s alleged crimes were not immediately available.
Hattaway pleaded guilty Oct. 12, 2018, to indecent exposure, child annoyance and attempted indecent exposure, all misdemeanors. He violated probation twice, according to court records.
In a probation violation petition in June 2019, Hattaway was accused of erasing his online searches to illicit websites, a violation of the terms of his probation. He also tested positive for cocaine in a drug test and had failed to keep his GPS monitoring device charged, according to the petition.
Hattaway had been staying at the Courtyard shelter in Santa Ana during probation. The probationer was on GPS monitoring as he attended sex offender treatments as well as 12-step meetings.
