A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday after an hour-long standoff with Desert Hot Springs police officers.

Patrol officers were sent to the 10800 block of San Miguel Road about 1:20 p.m. on a report that a man was holed up inside, threatening to shoot bail bondsmen outside the residence, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department. It was unclear why bail bondsmen were at the home.

Cmdr. Corinn Pickett said Angel Perez of Desert Hot Springs surrendered peacefully after about an hour and was taken into custody.

It was not immediately clear if Perez has a criminal history.
