One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash near a manufactured home neighborhood in the unincorporated Topanga area, and the suspect was on the loose Thursday morning.

The crash was reported about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near the Woodland Park Estates neighborhood, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig with the California Highway Patrol and the CHP’s West Valley station.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Kravig said.

All lanes on northbound and southbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard near the scene were shut down for more than four hours before being reopened about 12:15 a.m.

A description of the suspect vehicle was not immediately available.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.
