A 63-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a child over seven years in Glendale was arrested, police said Friday.

Barry Clark was taken into custody Thursday at his home in Missouri, where police served a search warrant and located unspecified evidence, according to the Glendale Police Department.

Police allege Clark abused the child between 2009 and 2016. During an investigation of the abuse, which began in 2019, police learned he had also been accused of taking photographs up the skirt of a girl in 2012 and making lewd comments to another minor in 2004, according to the department.

Authorities eventually contacted Clark in February, when he responded to a text message from a detective, who was pretending to be a victim, according to police.

“During a phone call on that number, Clark made admissions of sexually abusing this specific victim throughout the years,” police said.

Clark was arrested on suspicion of two counts of committing a sexual act with a child under 10 and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, police said.
