A teenager was wounded Saturday in a drive-by shooting in the Green Meadows area of South Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported at 6:49 p.m. outside 8758 S. Broadway, said Officer F. Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The 17-year-old boy was standing on the sidewalk with others when a vehicle approached and at least one suspect fired multiple gunshots and fled northbound on Broadway, Gonzalez said.
The boy was wounded and paramedics took him to a hospital. Officers awaited word on his condition, he said.
It was not yet determined whether the shooting was gang related, Gonzalez said.
