Three people were injured, two critically, in a multi-vehicle crash in Glendora that occurred at the end of a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle being driven by a suspected drunken driver.

At least five vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred around 6 p.m. at Arrow Highway and Barranca Avenue.

“It was a pretty horrific collision,” Azusa Police Department Sgt. Nick Covarruvias told Fox 11. “(The driver) was under the influence of alcohol, which obviously played a role.”

The driver and a passenger in the vehicle being pursued were hospitalized in critical condition and the driver of another vehicle involved sustained minor injuries.

“Fortunately no one was killed,” Covarruvias said. “There were numerous occupants in the other vehicles that were able to walk away.”

It was unclear where the chase began.
