A man was taken into custody Wednesday evening after leading California Highway Patrol units on a pursuit that ended in a fiery crash in Tarzana.
The man lost control of his vehicle and drove off of the Ventura (101) Freeway at about 8:30 p.m. near Tampa Avenue, KCAL9 reported. The car hit a transformer and a power pole before landing on its roof and catching fire.
Firefighters reported to the scene and doused the fire.
The man attempted to run away flee but was quickly taken into custody.
The suspect’s name was not released.
