Authorities are seeking a 31-year-old man who departed a rehabilitation facility without authorization Wednesday.
Jaime Clara walked away from a Male Community Reentry Program facility in Los Angeles at about 11:45 a.m., according to a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation statement. Agents from the CDCR Office of Correctional Safety conducted an emergency search to locate and apprehend Clara, but he was not found.
Clara was received by CDCR from Los Angeles County on Feb. 27, 2020, according to authorities. He was sentenced to four years for corporal injury on specific persons resulting in traumatic condition.
He arrived at the MCRP on March 18 and was scheduled to be released from custody on June 17, 2022.
Clara is 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighs 265 pounds and has several tattoos on his face. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact 911.
The MCRP is a voluntary program for male offenders who have about one year left of their sentence to serve. It allows eligible offenders committed to state prison to serve the end of their sentences in a re-entry center that provides community-based rehabilitative services.
