A Colorado man was arrested Tuesday after leading officers on a pursuit from Redondo Beach into Manhattan Beach in a car reported stolen out of the Bay Area, police reported.
About 7:15 a.m., officers spotted the car, which was reported stolen in San Jose, in the area of Artesia and Aviation boulevards and tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver took off, according to a Redondo Beach Police Department statement.
Trailed by police, the man drove to a hotel in the 900 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach, where he exited the vehicle and ran inside, police said. Officers established a perimeter around the hotel and were able to pinpoint his location with the aid of witnesses and security cameras.
SWAT units responded and made contact with the driver, who eventually came out of a hotel room and surrendered.
Ryan Cross, 39, of Colorado Springs, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and evading police and booked at the Redondo Beach Police Department, with bail set at $75,000.
