A man climbed up a crane estimated at about 150 feet in height Friday in the east Hollywood area, and authorities were working to take him into custody.

Firefighters were sent to the 4800 block of West Hollywood Boulevard shortly after 6 a.m., and a section of the street was closed, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which classified the incident as an apparent “behavioral emergency.”

The man was still on the crane more than two hours afterward, police said.
