A person was fatally struck by a Metro E Line train in the Culver City area Thursday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the area of Exposition Boulevard and Bagley Avenue just before 1 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a train, according to Officer William Cooper of the LAPD Media Relations Section.
There was no immediate word of the victim’s identity or gender, nor was there any speculation from officials of how the deadly incident happened.
The person suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not released.
Train service was stopped between the Culver City Station and Palms Station due to the collision and bus shuttles were called in to serve the stations, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
About 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Metro announced that train service on the E Line had been restored.
