Santa Ana police Thursday hunted an accused child molester who was on the run after being accused of sex attacks on three teenage girls – one of whom is a relative – in the apartment complex where he lived.
Police said the suspect agreed to turn himself in but never showed up, and they asked for help from the public in finding the accused missing molester.
Miguel Angel Tampa Ferrer, 36, was accused of molesting the three girls — two age 13 and a third 16 — between March 2019 and December 2020, said Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Ferrer was renting a room in the apartment complex in the 800 block of South Sullivan Street where he is accused of molesting a relative, who was 13, and two of the girl’s friends, Bertagna said.
Ferrer said through his attorney that he would turn himself in but never showed up, Bertagna said.
“He knows he’s wanted,” Bertagna said.
Anyone who may know where he is was asked to call detectives at 714-245-8302 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
