Two documented gang members were jailed Saturday morning on suspicion of gun, drug and probation violations after a parole and probation compliance check by police at a home in Pomona.
Officers with the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force conducted the check at 6:40 p.m. Friday at 1721 San Bernardino Ave., where officers spotted probationer Raymond Castro, 28, remove a gun from his waistband and throw it into a neighboring yard, according to Cpl. K. Gutierrez, who added Castro was also found to be in possession of drugs.
Castro’s uncle, Frank Castro, 49, who is on parole, was located at the home, where officers found two guns and a short-barreled rifle, Gutierrez said.
Both men are gang members and were found to be responsible for the weapons. They were arrested without incident and booked at the Pomona city jail, Gutierrez said.
