A 37-year-old felon was charged Tuesday with running over a man in a stolen pickup truck following an argument in an Anaheim parking lot in April and driving away.

Oscar Velasquez is accused of striking the victim with a 1999 GMC Sierra while veering into a group of people he knew and had a dispute with in a parking lot near a restaurant in the 2600 block of West Lincoln Avenue about 6 p.m. April 5, according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Shane Carringer.

The victim — a man in his 50s — was taken to a hospital to be treated for multiple broken bones, Carringer said.

Velasquez is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and single counts each of failure to stop at a hit-and-run accident with injury and theft with a prior felony conviction of stealing a vehicle, all felonies.
