Law enforcement officers Wednesday asked the public for help in trying to solve the grim mystery of a decomposing body found in Santa Clarita.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to an area of the Santa Clara River bed west of the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Camp Plenty Road at about 5:05 p.m. Tuesday for a medical rescue.
But the “rescue” turned out to be dealing with decomposed human remains, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Due to the deteriorated state of the body, authorities could not determine the person’s identity or cause of death.
No further details were released
Anyone with information was asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips may be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
