A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in Palm Springs, and police were questioning a person of interest.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of West Racquet Club Drive at about 4:15 a.m. on a shooting report, according to Sgt. Mike Casavan of the Palm Springs Police Department.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was dead when police officers arrived.

Another man was located nearby and was being interviewed by detectives. Police called him a “person of interest” but did not elaborate on his alleged involvement.

Nobody else was injured, and a motive in the slaying has not been made public.
