The Irvine Police Department put out a call Thursday for public help in identifying a Jaguar driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in a crosswalk last week.

The 31-year-old victim was crossing Encanto at Molino when she was struck last Friday at about 5:30 p.m. The woman, whose name was withheld, sustained a broken arm, dislocated shoulder and head injuries, according to police, who said the driver sped away without stopping to render aid.

The vehicle is believed to be a black Jaguar XJ with tinted windows and aftermarket chrome rims, and which may have damage to the front bumper or hood as a result of the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Roberto Solis at 949-724-7024 or at rsolis@cityofirvine.org.
