A 22-year-old Houston man was behind bars Wednesday awaiting arraignment on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Mission Viejo girl with cerebral palsy.
Nathan Keyshawn Williams was charged Tuesday with luring of a child with the intent to commit a sex crime, meeting a minor to commit lewd conduct, statutory rape, sexual penetration with a foreign object with a victim younger than 16 and oral copulation of a person younger than 16, all felonies, court records show.
Orange County sheriff’s investigators on Friday had sought the public’s help in tracking down the girl, who was last seen the day before at Mission Viejo High School.
She had been “conversing online through an app called Discord” with Williams, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, who said investigators determined the suspect “traveled here to meet her and she was picked up … in a rideshare vehicle.”
Hours later, sheriff’s investigators tracked down where the two were staying at a motel in Los Angeles, Braun said.
Williams, who is being held on $100,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 16 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
