A murder suspect was arrested Wednesday after barricading himself in a hotel room in downtown Los Angeles for more than three hours.
Officers were sent to the Wayfarer Hotel in the 800 block of South Flower Street, near Eighth Street, about noon to serve an arrest warrant — but the man refused to exit his room, and SWAT units were called to aid officers as they attempted to negotiate a surrender, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man was taken into custody about 3:35 p.m., said Officer Jader Chaves.
Tear gas was used to flush out the suspect, KNX-AM (1070) reported.
Traffic was routed away from the area.
