Police Wednesday were searching for a woman who injured an 81-year-old man during an attempted carjacking in San Pedro.

The man was parking his truck in front of his house at about 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22 when the woman approached him, knocked him to the ground and took his keys, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The woman attempted to start the truck, but the man was able to engage a kill switch that prevented it from being taken. The woman then fled the area on foot.

The man only suffered minor injuries during the attempted carjacking, police said.

The suspect was described as a white woman between 20 and 30 years old who stands between 5-feet-1 and 5-feet-3 inches tall and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds.
