A driver wanted for an alleged assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer led Los Angeles police on a high-speed chase Sunday that began in the Silver Lake area.

The pursuit began near Beverly Boulevard and Vermont Avenue around 2:10 p.m. and ended at 3:08 p.m., according to LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes.

The driver was barricaded inside a home in South San Jose Hills, NBC4 reported. That was not confirmed by the LAPD. However, Cervantes said that a perimeter has been set up and police were looking for the driver with assistance from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

KTLA5 reported the home where the standoff was ongoing was near Doverdale Avenue and Hurley Street.

The vehicle was registered to an owner in Rialto, NBC4 reported.
