A 42-year-old woman accused of attacking a man with a weapon in an unincorporated county area near Corona was jailed Thursday after a brief standoff with deputies led to her arrest.
Deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 16000 block of Setting Sun Circle, west of Corona, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a 32-year-old man suffering from moderate injuries, according to Sgt. Steve Lycopolus.
The suspect, identified as Amy Alhindi, fled to her home and refused to follow orders from deputies to exit the building, Lycopolus said.
After a brief standoff, Alhindi came out of her home and was arrested.
She was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon that is not a firearm, according to inmate records. She remained jailed on $25,000 bail.
