A young man was killed Saturday crossing Jefferson Boulevard in the Exposition Park area near the USC campus.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. on Jefferson at Harvard Boulevard, according to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The vehicle was eastbound on Jefferson when it struck the 18- to 25-year-old man was crossing southbound at Harvard, the dispatcher said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver stopped, the dispatcher said.
NBC4 reported the victim was a USC student and that the motorist had been street racing with another vehicle at the time of the crash.
