A man who allegedly wielded a knife was shot by police Saturday in South Los Angeles.
Just before 5 p.m., officers were called to Adams Boulevard and Griffith Avenue by witnesses who reported a man was threatening to harm himself and others with a knife, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department Operations Center.
Police shot the man when they encountered him around 5:10 p.m., the officer said.
The man’s condition was not known, though a news videographer at the scene said paramedics took him to a hospital.
It was the second police shooting of the day involving a man armed with a knife in South L.A.
