Two people died Thursday at the scene of a shooting at a business in North Hollywood, and a suspect was taken into custody, authorities said.

Officers were sent to the Burlington Coat Factory at Laurel Canyon and Victory boulevards about 11:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a person who reported hearing arguing inside the store and shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Paramedics pronounced a man and a woman dead at the scene, and took a woman to a hospital for treatment of a “trauma” injury, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

Police reported that the suspect was taken into custody.

“This is NOT an active shooter (incident). Suspect is in custody,” police said in a tweet.
