A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed Wednesday on the San Diego (405) Freeway.
The person, described only as a male, was injured about 4:40 a.m. on the southbound freeway near Vermont Avenue, and he died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Information was not immediately available on the name and age of the fatally injured person.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the numbers one, two, three, four and HOV lanes of the southbound freeway while an investigation was conducted. All lanes were reopened by about 8:30 a.m., according to Caltrans.
