Los Angeles County firefighters battled a small brushfire in the mountains above Azusa for about two hours Saturday evening.

The fire charred just under two acres before it was put out at 8:55 p.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Matthew Stafford.

It was reported at 6:51 p.m. and burned near the area of East Sierra Avenue and Azusa Veterans Way, Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz told City News Service.

Two water-dropping helicopters helped firefighters gain the upper hand over the flames, fire officials said.

No injuries or structure damage were reported, Stafford said.
