About 60 palm trees caught fire in Boyle Heights Friday evening, causing damage to five vehicles and a home.

The fire was reported about 6:10 p.m. adjacent to the Pomona (60) Freeway near the intersection of Euclid and Atlantic avenues, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The flames managed to hurdle a sound wall and damage the vehicles, as well as a detached garage and a single-family home. Firefighters extinguished the flames by about 6:55 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and no other structures or vehicles were damaged.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
