A barricaded suspect was talked into surrendering peacefully to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau personnel Monday in Bassett, authorities said.
The drama at a residence in the 17300 block of Valley Boulevard began around 12:10 p.m., according to Deputy Lizette Falcon.
SEB personnel assisted deputies from the Industry Station and then took command of the negotiations to get the man to surrender.
Surrounding homes were temporarily evacuated for the safety of the residents, Falcon said.
As of 2 p.m., with the man in custody, Falcon said residents were allowed to return home.
No injuries were reported.
There’s no word yet as to why the man barricaded himself into the residence or what he may have been wanted for.
