Authorities Wednesday continued their efforts to find the killer of a man who was stabbed in January in the South Los Angeles area.

Ignacio Lorenzo-Silva, 43, was attacked about 4:45 p.m. Jan. 3 in the 5500 block of South Normandie Avenue, and he died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

“Lorenzo-Silva was walking to the bus stop on his way home from work when an unknown suspect approached him from behind and stabbed him in the neck,” police said in a statement.

Authorities held a news conference Wednesday morning to seek the public’s help in solving the crime.

A reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps detectives find the killer.
