Fire Sunday damaged a two-story apartment building in the Harbor Gateway community of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The 30 firefighters dispatched at 5:49 a.m. to 745 W. El Segundo Blvd. had the blaze out within 17 minutes of their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
“The first arriving fire company reported finding a two-story apartment building with heavy smoke showing from one side,” said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. “An offensive fire attack ensued and crews held the fire to one unit. Smoke infiltrated adjacent units, but no fire damage.”
A person was treated at the scene for possible smoke inhalation and declined medical transport, she said.
No other injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
