An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer riding a motorcycle was injured Thursday in hit-and-run collision in downtown, and the suspect driver was detained.

The LAPD reported the collision occurred in the area of Wall and Winston streets, though the exact time of the crash was not released. However, Wall from Winston to Fourth Street was closed as of about 4:40 p.m. as authorities investigated the collision.

The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the hit-and-run, and was “expected to make a full recovery.”

The suspect was detained a short distance away from the scene of the crash, but the LAPD had yet to confirm if the person was arrested.
