Police were searching for a homeless man who stabbed another man in the arm Saturday in Brea, authorities said.

The stabbing occurred at about 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of South Brea Boulevard, according to a watch commander at the Brea Police Department.

Paramedics took the victim to UCI Medical Center, he said.

“Everyone involved is giving different stories — not terribly out of the ordinary,” the watch commander said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 40s, 5-feet-8 inches to 5-feet-10 inches tall, with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing two black jackets, black pants and carrying two backpacks.

Anyone with information about the attack was urged to call the Brea Police Department at 714-990-7911.
