A homicide suspect was being sought Wednesday in the South Los Angeles area, police said.
Authorities went to 97th Street and Success Avenue at about 7:40 a.m. to serve a warrant, but the suspect was not found, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man was reportedly seen running through neighborhoods, and the nearby 96th Street Elementary School in the 1400 block of East 96th Street was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The 41-year-old suspect, possibly armed, was described as wearing a blue shirt and dark jeans. He is wanted in the shooting death of a man in his 20s on Aug. 5, according to Fox11.
Anyone seeing him was urged to call police.
