A person was shot and wounded Thursday near a freeway off-ramp in the Torrance area, and an investigation was underway.
The shooting was reported about 9:30 a.m. near the Crenshaw Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wounded person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, according to the CHP. No arrests were reported.
The northbound 405 Freeway was briefly closed from Western Avenue to Crenshaw Boulevard while an investigation was conducted. Caltrans announced about 2 p.m. that all but the far right lane of the freeway had been reopened.
