A 68-year-old woman who died after she was struck by a white van while standing outside her car in the Antelope Valley was identified Thursday.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Elsa Guzman of Riverside.

Guzman was standing outside of her disabled 2004 Toyota on Tuesday at Avenue J and 200th Street East when a 2011 Ford van traveling west on Avenue J struck her, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monique Mischeaux.

Guzman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van, a Barstow resident, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Mischeaux said.

Anyone with information regarding this collision was asked to call the Antelope Valley Area CHP office at 661-948-8541.
